i'll get some close ups later ..the bantams are cochin..they are a friends half of the order ..the chickmonk looking ones are welsummers ..I ham suppost to have one cockrel in there ..I think I already no which one he is ..hes the one the just keeps pecking and biting everyone ..he needs some special attention from me I guess ..lol..I hope his mean streak doesn't continue ..
the other ones with the dark feathers on there butts are colubian Wyandotte..i have one that has a more darker feathers then the rest ..I am thinking maybe a roo or another kind of bird ..not sure yet ..but i'll find out soon enough..lol

even tho I lost 2 .. I still had 40 birds for a 30 bird order ..my wifes not happy with me ..I told her I only wanted about 8 more birds ..I told its her falt for directing me to the thread on chick math ..I guess she didn't even read it all ..lol

I am thinking my roo I will name levon..he needs a name that starts with an L..i am lauren , my wife is lisa and our kids are lucas and lacey ..the 4 hens I have are momma, baby girl, chica, and mcnuggets.. the rest of my new babys will be named as I see how they are ..

Beautiful chicks - I am curious about that black and brown chick with very smooth markings (third picture, lower left). Is that a bantam Cochin? The colouring is very pretty!

actually I think the one you are talking about is a standerd wellsumer, but the one next to it with the black is a cochin, there were a few like that one ..also the one with the spotted head is also cochin. ,there are or were some cochin bantams in there ..but they belonged to a friend who ordered with me ..lol she ordered the 15 bantam cochin special from cackle [hatcherys choice]..she has taken them home now tho ..there were some really pretty markings on a few of them ..she plans on using a couple for 4-h .her daughter shows them at our countyfair at the end of summer..

I meant the one with the black, not the striped Welsummer - I think. Interesting to see what colour it turns out!

Chicken math has got me now. Here's what I received Monday. I think I have identified most, but I may need some help from those of you out there with a better eye for breeds than I have.

Sicilian Buttercup

EE Roo #1

EE Roo #2

Columbian Wyandotte #1 (yep, she's the "loud one")

Columbian Wyandotte #2

Blue Andalusian

Black Cochin #1

Black Cochin #2 (loves to stay in my hand)

OK, the next 8 chicks contain: 1 black Minorca, 3 black Cuckoo Marans, 1 blue Andalusian, 2 Australorps, and a free mystery chick. Any help would be appreciated.
