WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

Lets see the ones you dont know yet, see if we can guess. Did you have any issues with shipping with mcmurray? I got mine this morning a day late, and I just lost a polish and I think I may be losing another. That will make 6 chicks so far that we have lost. (Btw, the buff, my mother called, she had to cull it.) I just cleaned 6 pasty butts and I'm gonna try to leave them alone as much as possible to help them to relax and not to stress them anymore than they have to, to be cared for.

Not sure what else I can do for them that Im not already.

IS it the shipping or are chickens really difficult? I remember my ducklings as day olds last year ~ they came out of the box like little Tyrannosaurus Rex ~ ate everything, bathed, slept in a pile, then started all over.

Sad to hear you are losing so many!

I'm supposed to bring mine into my class for a week (we're learning about habitat). I'd better wait for a week or two. I don't want the class in tears!!

Oooh, get the Bantams. They are so lovable and the favorites with my grandkids. They won't stay off your lap or shoulder, if you're sitting.

They are completely unapologetically messy, but very fun. What kind do you have? My Rouens are aerating the ground right now. I bet my grass will come up nice this year. They're most likely getting some bugs too ~ just when they wake up from a winter's nap. And pretty soon once all this snow thaws ... there will be a LOT of water to play in!
dont have any yet these'll be my first. i'm getting 3 welsh harlequins, 2 khaki campbell, and 1 blue runner all female from Metzer's

We are waiting for a variety of chicks--silver laced wynadotte, gold laced wynadotte, black sex link, buff orp, barred rock, light brahma, austrolope, speckled sussex, Can't wait for them to come. Going to be adding them to my existing flock. Also building them a much larger coop. we will be busy this spring.

I believe this was shipping. I mean two were dead upon arrival, one died shortly after, the other had a prolapse, and the these other two the other thing I could outwardly see wrong was the pasty bum. I begin to notice they get lethargic, and start to refuse to eat or drink. Im not sure if its the stress, or what. I went through them all again to check their bums 6 needed cleaned, and I petroleum jellied their bums to help the poop to not stick the next time. I also kinda think maybe the polish two had a harder time cause they are so petite. When you look at their frames and build compared to my barred rock or even the cochin, they feel so dainty holding them compared.

rockmissjess, they should be fine!!!

I have been ordering from Murray since the 1980's and usually will lose 0 to 2 in an order of 25. The January order of 25 that I ordered though I lost 6. I attribute this to the fact that the temps were sub zero since it was the very first shipment of the year, since I'm in FL, and chicks just got chilled. They refunded all though and I will definitely order from them again. I would've gotten my Bantams from them also but they didn't have the Wellsummers' and I really wanted to try the very dark brown, speckled eggs.
I'll try to get photos of the two or three I still can't pin down. I think two are phoenix and one I can't tell if it is a Golden Campine or one of my four Amerucauna.
