@rockmissjess , remind me of how many chicks you have. We also have one of those 54 gallon totes to use as a brooder/early brooder, and I'm wondering how long it's going to last us. I currently have all kinds of projects going on (seedlings, chicks, home organization), and I want to make sure I don't find myself outgrowing the brooder before I have a back up plan!
We're getting 11 chicks.

YEAH!!!! I received my chicks and ducklings today from chickensforbackyard.com they are all healthy and happy

One thing though that makes me wonder, they weren't supposed to come in until tomorrow and they arrived with a completely different tracking number?!?!?!?!? Makes you wonder huh??? Will be giving them a call to see if they sent me two packages or just the wrong tracking number......

I just added two pullet black copper maran's to my order!!

Do you think I can just tell hubby that they must have added a few extra surprises for me?

I have 8 ... mine are almost 4 weeks and they need something bigger.. however its too cold outside for them to be out... just yet..so they are gonna have to stay in it for another week.... they are constantly kicking shavings into their water... and pooping in it now.. (they perch on the top) ... i try to let them have outside days when the weather is nice enough and put them in our pref-fab coop..... i change their water our almost every hour or two... they have to have their 24" feeder filled every other day... they are becoming little boogers lol

and i think little ducks are soooooo cute!! too bad they grow up? i wish they could stay that tiny and cute forever..
