WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

Oh my! They're coming TODAY! The sort facility 30 minutes north of us just called and asked if we wanted to pick them up there. My husband was heading that way to go to Lowe's and he's going to swing by the post office to get them afterwards.

I'd better go get everything ready!

that's awesome ..makes my wait till the 9th not seem so far off..i love watching them change over time ..who new that chickens had so many stages of life ..and all they have to go threw just to survive..its great we can be so lucky to be able to raise them ..those who don't have know idea what its like ..lol

They're here! All 32 chicks (we ordered 30) are alive and well. The invoice says they sent 1 extra Blue Andalusian rooster and then the other extra appears to be a Polish. I'm not entirely sure yet. It has a crest and no leg feathers.

Right after going into the brooder:

You can see the crested chick right in the center. It's smaller than all of the other chicks.

They are settling in and spreading out in the brooder now. Not to mention going to town on their food!

They are so adorable!! Thanks for taking the time to post pics, I am quickly becoming a chick pic addict! ;) I'm so glad they all got to you safely!!

Picked up these colorful little gems (pricey little buggers too) today to put under my broody tonight.

I got several different colors and they are straight run but hopefully at least 3 are pullets...and hopefully some of them feather out in pretty colors or patterns,

They have been drinking and eating and seem healthy and lively. I also hope to keep a rooster which I never have had before.

They are one day old and I got them from a breeder ....drove 80 miles each way....lol ....and my husband even encouraged me....

They are so stinkin' cute! What breed are they? I think the little chipmunk looking ones might be EE's but I am a newbie! ;) That is fantastic your hubby is so on board!
