WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

I agree, its not good. I don't know if you saw my previous post about it, but I ordered from them two weeks ago thinking that if I got to order from them than they had them in stock, or close to it. After 4 business days (the website does say that it takes them 5-10 days to contact you) I called to see if I could pick my chicks up because I only live about 1.5 hours away. And they had a hard time tracking down my order because "it wasn't processed yet"!! after 6 days and 4 business days. So when I realized that same morning I could get what I wanted from Meyer I jumped on it and canceled the cackle order. Cackle was very nice about it all, not even charging me their 10% because the order hadn't "processed" yet.
But all said and done it would have really helped me out to know the availability of the chicks I was wanting to order. ;)

Yeah I know the lady that I spoke with had to go find my order she didn't even have it. It took her a good 15 minutes to find it. So I then added a brown leg horn cockerel to it, then asked the question as to when they would send it. I almost freaked out when she told me when it would come out. Then when i found out the surprise box would be just 11 days before the other one if I ordered that. Instead I went with the regular order. Might as well. I thought for sure they would have the surprise available daily but nope. I like when you can see when chicks are available. This could be why tractor supply isn't getting any more chicks this year.

When I spoke to a customer service rep at My Pet Chicken a few weeks ago, she said the demand for chicks has really shot up this year. They were taken by surprise and have been adding stock (from Meyer) whenever they can, but they've been selling out of chicks for many of their ship dates.

I know the BYC movement has been growing for awhile, but it sounds like this has been a very big year for chick ordering.

Yeah looks like more and more people are catching onto it. We started raising chickens 20+ years ago. However back then it wasn't for breeding and shows. After we moved here chickens caught on fast. We now have close to 10 people in our neighborhood with chickens just for their eggs.

Hi all!

I ordered 12 Mottled Javas, 12 Buff Cochins, and 5 Russian Orloffs, all straight run. My ship date is May 14th, and I'm so excited I can't stand it! My mom and her boyfriend are hoping for at least a couple of pairs out of this order, too. She says it's totally my duty, since I got her started in chicken-keeping.

A lot of towns are making chickens legal now. Been a heck of a boom around here since Huber Heights now allows six hens I've heard.

Looks like we all are going to have a very long wait for babies, the good thing is it gives us plenty of time to get things ready for them all.
