WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? WHAT DID YOU JUST RECEIVE?

Mixed breeds just means you don't know what kind of chicken you'll be getting and the people at TSC can't tell which chick is which and neither can I so this is why I'm going to a local breeder.

Local breeders are always best. I am actually getting some special eggs from a lady that has bred her Buff Orpington with a silky. I cant wait to see what they will look like. I told her I would be happy to try it. However I know both parents are pure rather then a mix.

2 years ago at tractor supply I got 6 GLW's. I still have one of the older hens now. Her eggs are white though and she is about the size of a bantam so something tells me that they mix their breeds. She sure isn't a pure bred.

Well went to Jackson County 4h small animal auction, yes I picked up a few babies.

the two holding my hands have no feathers on legs the other 2 do I am not sure what they are because you bid on a box and how many are in there. I have 9 little ones. The box says rare breed but we will see to me that don't matter besides all the money went to 4h club

That is awesome! I need to find that kind of 4-H auction by me!

Hi all! I am new to chickens (and BYC) and have just started with our little flock. So far we have six thriving chicks. Two of them we picked up from a local feed store and the other four are from TSC. I haven't had a single issue with pasty butt and all seem to be adjusting quite well.

Here are the three we picked up from the local feed store. One Black Australorp and two Ameraucanas, all pullets (one Ameraucana was given to my mother-in-law).

The other four among the other two ladies. We believe we have a Barred Rock, Red Sex Link, Silver Laced Wyandotte, and another mystery chick (I think he's an Old English Game Bantam, not sure though). We are hoping that either the BR or the OEGB are Roos.

Little Scarlet (the RSL).

And Periwinkle (Peri for short).

And Rusty. Any ideas to his breed? He's super docile and sweet.

Hi there! I love your coop! I, myself, am looking for a coop on amazon. Do you remember what it was called? I'd love to check it out.

Hi, Ya it is from Pawhut. Called Giant chicken coop. Pretty pricey but I love it. The only advice I would give you is to have someone strong help if you yourself are not. It takes two people to put the roof on, the panels are pretty heavy. Also, someone with a working knowledge of wood construction is helpful.

Also it comes in Five large boxes.

I got 16 chicks from McMurray hatchery in MN today. Shipped the 4th, delivered the 6th.

One is all pecked up and is acting exhausted. The rest are fat and happy.
