What are your breeding plans for next year?

Black Americana roo over some Barred Rock hens for some pretty sexlink colored eggers, Blue Copper Marans Roo over some BCM hens that hatched from 7/8s in attempt to darken egg color. Nothing too fancy. Grow my lakenvelders out.

It will be the 3rd yr for our layers so better half will crank up the incubator for next generation. Two yr olds will go to auction or just be given away with a couple more yrs of good egg laying left.

Plan in place to get hatching eggs for Silver Ameraucana. So I can have Silver hens for Dusty. Also going to test him over some silver Phoenix hens soon as I get the pen up.

I'm really excited about my breeding plans this year. I have a Legbar and a speckled homozygous blue Easter egger paired with a half Marans/Wellsummer roo and a brown speckled laying marans mix and a homozygous blue green layer under my gorgeous calico splash marans cross EE who hatched from a homozygous blue egg. These will produce two groups of pullets and the two sweetest Cockrells will make the first generation of my speckled Easter and olive egger project.
