What are your breeding plans for next year?

You just reminded me I wanted to add gold laced wyandottes to my mixed flock. They can add some nice color, but I mainly want to mix them with my three breed rooster so I can get some rosecombs with new colors.

Cool! Two of my three black hens have a good shimmer. The ones with the shimmer are banty cochin and marans faverolle mix. The one that doesn't have it is half partridge bantam cochin, 1/4 leghorn, and 1/4 game mix. She is also 4-5 months old, so she might gain it as she ages.

This year I hope to improve my D’Uccles line and Silkie line. I also hope to get a pair of modern game bantams to add to my breeding program

I'm still a new learner to genetics, etc., but I'm trying to better my Black Copper Marans towards SOP and darken their egg colors. Working on breeder pens soon and then some test mating with my second rooster come spring. I've got a second mix flock and will be hatching out Midnight Majesty Marans and Olive Eggers, also.
Lots of work to do but having fun trying to soak up knowledge.

So probably I might set up a pen of really cool chickens. Polish, NN, silkie, showgirl silkie, bantam cochin, frizzle, Easter egger/ameraucana, ayam cemani, something blue, like Andalusian or sapphire gem, and lots of other things, I'm sure.
