In 2019, what are you looking for with your flock or future flock? What are your poultry resolutions? Are you planning to finally do that thing to your coop that you said you'd do two years ago? Adding a run? New lights? Better ventilation?
Or maybe you're planning on getting new breeds, or starting a breeding a program, or getting your first chicks or.... joining BYC ;)

The new year is upon us. Share with us your plans regarding poultry and anything related thereto :D

Good question.
I hope this year to move my ducks to a bigger area near my pond. They'll have more room and it'll be less messy near the house.
need to do some more upkeeping for the chickens too. And this year, im going to figure out how to save more money on their food. Spending 250 dollars a month is burning a hole in my pocket. Maybe look into fermented feed? I never can understand how to do this..

I ferment feed and it saves me literally over 50% in feed costs.
I put feed in a waterproof container w/ a lid, add water to about 1 inch above feed level, add lid and let sit for 3 days.
Easy to do, ferments well. I add fresh feed when I get down to about half of what I started with.

Hoping to breed my partridge, blue buff columbian and lemon Pyle brahmas that My broody RIR hatched out at the beginning of this year. :)

Also planning on breeding my mixedbreed ducks for fun

We are in the process of getting financing to have a new house built!:ya We get to move out of this drafty old farm house on my parents' property. I know why my dad had absolutely no interest in moving into this house and built another instead. They are going to use it as storage and guest quarters.

On our property, which is maybe 150 yards from the farm house we are currently living in, we are planning on doing a really nice chicken chicken house that has access to 4 different runs that we can cycle them through so they don't wear one down too quickly.

Oh and baby is due in June! That will be exciting. Hopefully we are moved in to the new house by then. It is a manufactured home, so it shouldn't take too long to build once we get the funding.

Well for me, My family is trying to get a house with some land lot for the chickens, my dad and I are think of building a new coop for the chickens after getting the house since there place right now is a bit cramped :(
So at the new place they can free range whenever they want, maybe letting them have some chicks ;)
Possibly more hens, who knows :p
