What are your poop boards made of?

I found an old door (two actually, just stuck a 2 x 4 underneath where they meet). Works great!
Here is the work in progress and the final results. I covered the whole thing in a piece of linoleum I had left over from the new bathroom floor. All free!
Of course, now it's all poopy....go figure!

I LOVE the counter top idea! We actually have two Habitat ReStores near us, one in Portland and one in Vancouver so I'll have to check those out. Thanks! I was thinking of something removable as a poop board, but I guess if you put shavings on top you don't really need it. Perfect!

I used scrap (1/2" I think) plywood with a slick, super thin sheet of masonite type paneling sitting on top (from Lowes/Home Depot). The masonite-like paneling is very easy to scrape off with a plastic putty knife each day, and I can simply slide the paneling off to hose it/wipe it off once a month or so if I want a better cleaning.

Ours is made from scrap wood and scrap linoleum. As you can see, it rests on top of the wood nailed to the side of the coop walls, so I can remove it to hose it down periodically. I never put shavings on it, it's just not necessary (even if the board is not removable). I just scrape it down once each morning with a big drywall scraper. I cannot believe the amount of shavings and $$$ it saves me in not having to change the coop bedding so often!!
