What are you putting in the incubator or under broody hen for spring? We all know it's getting close to the "chick" itch season and we're already "filling" our incubators in our heads. What are you hatching next year?

Step one: One of my girls goes broody and means it.
Step two: TSC orders Blue Australorp chicks and I get four.
Step three: Broody accepts chicks, is a great momma, and integration goes seamlessly.

Well, that's the plan.

My plan is similar except I may put some eggs under a broody too. I had 3 broodies last summer and bought 2 more so fingers-crossed they can all raise a few chicks for me

At the end of februar I now will also get some dwarf silkie mixes eggs. And at the end of march we will breed some Maran eggs....

Finally got it mapped out:
#1 (March 1) CCl, True Splash/Blue Ameraucana, Grey silkie, EE/OE
#2 Swedish Flower, Polish, Silkie, EE/OE
#3 Welsh Harlequin, Silkie, EE/OE
Then we'll see where I'm at...but it will be silkies all summer as I'm adding to my breeding stock and silkies seem to hatch 80% boys or faults.
