What bedding should I use?

Mine have been laying in straw. One of the hens will make a nest and all hens will lay them in the same nest. If i go in to replace the straw they just make a new nest.

If part of your hutch has a solid floor like a shelter/box I would use hay or straw. It's easier to get out than shavings, I do like using shavings in the brooder though.

Well I just bought a massive thing of pine shavings from the feed store last night. After that I will try hay or straw

Just got this delivered last night & I assembled it. Might keep only one pair of my bobs in there...if they ever mature!

But for now they will all live in there until a fight breaks out! Hoping that won't happen though!

That looks like a really good cage to have!! Wish I could buy something like that over here...most rabbit hutches have a solid floor over here. Haven't found any that use a wire bottom with a dropping tray, which is what I am looking for

I've spoken to a couple of people on here who keep a few quail in glass tanks and they use shredded paper with great success. It would depend on what type of enclosure you keep them in. If it's indoors, I would think it would be fine, but outside I would be worried about it getting damp
