What exactly do you feed him and do you offer grit?

Giving a chicken a bath or a soak is not exactly unstressful.
I recommend you not doing so if you are thinking it will relieve stress.
I offer grit, chicken pellets, dried meal worms, and anything they forage for. They mostly forage all day.

Oh okay. I thought it would be good for if my girls got egg bound or they experienced leg issues that stress them out.

Are your girls having either of these issues?

If you have a sick bird...The last thing you want to do is give it a bath.

Not at the moment. I just thought an epsom salt soak for a few minutes might help if I ever needed to help them in a pinch.

I've given them baths before to clean them off, but only when their fluffy butts were a mess.

Get just plain epsom salts from any drug store or grocery store. Don’t buy the lavender fragranced or fancy kinds, just plain magnesium sulfate. You may find them in the laxative aisle or foot care area. It is a strong laxative, so I would not give it orally. It is sometimes used as a foot soak or a flush when chickens eat something toxic.
Will they get sick off a lavender scented one if used orally? It’s the only one we have on hand at the moment. Thanks!

The only reason to give it orally is to cure a really bad case of constipation. The chicken will likey have a bad case of
diarrhea after.

For topical use it will draw fluid out of the skin.
