what brand of feed do you use?

Quote:
Yes, they do. At different times in development. What are you trying to feed, specifically??

Chicks get chick feed Tyndel

In between chick stage and layer, they get Grower/Developer I think Purina, only found one company and I am drawing a blank

When they start laying, layer feed. Tyndel or Nutrena

I guess I don't understand what you are asking. edit 'Brand' , sorry, lol.

what is BOSS?

B.O.S.S. = black oil sunflower seed

I use a proprietary brand called "OMC." It's made by the Orangeburg Milling Company, thus the name.

I live in commercial poultry country and this mill is a big supplier to the biz, locally. Their feed is both sound, fresh and of good quality.
They make chick grower/starter, laying pellets and all purpose feed. I've used all three, but usually stick to the two poultry specific feeds.

It is also available at the local grocery store, where it sells in great quantity for $9-11/bag. I was there yesterday and was talking with their local rep, Lynwood. He told me it is basically the same feed sold to the commercial buyers, just repackaged for the general public. According to him, it is only ten to fifteen cents more locally, than if I drove the 60 miles to get it at the mill itself.
While we chatted, 3 bags flew away in the hands of eager buyers.
"See," he said, "...sells like hot cakes!"

I know I like it.
