That was my thread also. I didn't have that good of a go around with them, did IAs others have pointed out, don't forget Dorkings (plus the Sultans that lovinchicks metioned, that makes 5 breeds total ) Dorkings are the only non-crested or non feather-shanked of the 5 toed chickens so in my mind it makes it the most likely suspect for a cross. I don't remember their color variations though.
Since the toe on question is so small/atypical, I think it is at least only 1/2 and may even be 1/4 Dorking.
There was another thread recently asking the breeds of chicks they got from Sandhill Preservation and they were not true-to-breed either (I think the breeds in question were Marans and Sussex). Methinks they may have roosters sneaking in the wrong pens. Her eis a link to that thread:
