Seeing as you got him from Murray McMurray.....I say Silver Penciled Wyandotte as well. Just hatchery style. There is a good example of what he might look like at http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Wyand/BRKWyand.html. It will be almost to the bottom, row 48 from top or row 16 from bottom of the adult pictures. Labeled: "Another nice pair of Silver Penciled Wyandottes"

Here is one of my SLW roos I hatched out last year. This was the "good" one. The other roo looked even more like a penciled.

Okay anyone in doubt of his lacing. . .



Look at his chest. There's definite but poor quality lacing there. Even a poor quality Silver Pencilled, if he had any white on the chest, would have it at the TIP of the feather.

Look at his secondary (big white wing feathers) - There's way too little black on the tips; Also, silver pencilled cockerels have a solid black tip that with each feather creates a "bar" of black. A silver laced cockerel just has a sort of laced tip of black, creating a scalloped look, as he has.

Look at the bar of laced feathers just above his secondaries. . . Those are laced. A silver pencilled would have a solid black bar there. No white on the inside of the feathers.

i have 2 silver laced roos and i would have to say silver penciled
