What breed and age are these chickens?

okay so i will keep her in a large dog crate away from all other hens, does that sound good?

It doesn’t change the fact that all the new birds have been exposed to disease.

It may help, if she is sick. First; inspect her. Are her eyes or nostrils watery? Does she walk normally? Lift her feathers; are they crusted and dirty on the shafts? Can you see bugs?

I’m not talking about the older hens, they are safe, I agree. I’m talking about the new birds that have been put in together.

so i will take the delaware out and do i give her any meds?

yes she is almost always off the roost but once and a while i catch her on the roost during the day. i will get pictures

Separating her will certainly keep the other chickens from picking on her.

Being alone is stressful for chickens, but so is being picked on, so I don't know which is better in that respect.

If those chickens have been together for a few days, they are already exposed to each others' diseases, so separating her now won't make any difference to that. But if you just got them today, then they might not have traded all their germs yet, so separating her from the others might still help.

If it was me, I would probaby put her in the dog crate, but put the dog crate inside the pen with the other new chickens. That way she is safe, but not entirely alone.

Okay, here is what I would do.
Inspect all of the birds closely. Check eyes, beaks, nostrils, vents. Lift up feathers. If any act ill or have pale combs, keep an eye on them.
There’s no point in separating them now, they have all been exposed to one another. This may all turn out okay, so let’s hope for the best.
You can give them Nutri-Drench if you have any on hand. It helps boost their systems a bit.
If you find anything suspicious when inspecting your birds, you can make a thread here and we can give you a treatment plan if one is necessary.
