Thanks for the replyA lot of information is very helpful. Full side view, for the whole bird and as close as possible.. Comb is also important as well as age and suspected breed. One of the easiest things to 'change' on a bird is colour, so if you don't know the breed, and the person you got them from doesn't know, it is safe to assume Mix. If I go by typical comb size, it looks like females, but if they are under 15 weeks of age, the red in the combs may be males .. As females tend to stay very pale until they are ready to start laying. It honestly depends also on what kind of comb style you have also. (Which knowing the breed or the mix of breeds you have, can be of help. Otherwise it is a crap shoot until someone starts laying or crowing. )
