Ruby - Hatchery quality RIR, probably pullet
Ginny - Production Red cockerel
Sassafras - Hatchery quality RIR thinking pullet

My little one started calling her Sassy pants first and it evolved to Sassafras, one of my favorite names so far =) Thank you for all the great information. Now it's time to google about a few of the chicks and well I guess it's time I start thinking of new names for Penny and Ginny lol.

That's how my girl got her name as well, she was an extremely sassy Barred Rock so it stuck .

Thank you, I was really afraid that Ginny and Penny may be Cockerels. 3 pullets and 3 cockerels are not a good combination are they? Isn't the rule 1 rooster to every 4-5 hens?

one rooster to 8-10 hens is what I have heard. although I have one rooster that takes care of about 15 hens.

A general rule of thumb is that roosters can cover anywhere from 10-15 hens.
