They’re a bit better. Still not as clear, but I can work with it. I believe that the chicken is a cockerel or cock based on the lack of bleaching in the legs. I’m unable to identify if the saddle or hackle feathers are pointy. This is a real tricky one.

Going off these pictures alone it look like a Black Leghorn cockerel to me. But that's assuming its a purebred. It could be a crossbred just as easily.

What do you make of the black coloring on the legs?

Its typical of Black Leghorns. I've never owned any myself but a lot of pictures I was able to find shows the black wash. Especially in males.
