Hello, I hope everyone had a good weekend.

We bought bantam chicks at tractor supply on 5/11/2025. We are first time owners. Would love to know gender (if possible at this age) and breed. I’ll include a picture of them when we got them to show how they have grown. Tractor supply stated they didn’t know how old they are.

My daughters gave some girl names from the start even though we didn’t know sex.

The first pictures are Jasmine. Is Jasmine going to have to be named Johnathan?

Second is Elainee. Kind of worried of the growth in Elainee. The feathers are growing in so cute but it doesn’t seem like Elainee is growing as fast as the others. Is that normal for this Bantam breed?

Third is Midnight. Midnight was the smallest until it out grew Elainee.

Fourth is Olivia. Oliva lets Elainee hangout under her wing a lot.

Fifth is Spot. Sixth is Thunderbird.

Thank you for the time and comments!

The white one in the first picture is a cockerel. It is a red pyle old English game bantam.

The black one looks female. It is a frizzle black Cochin.

The black and brown one could be a cockerel. I think it is a brown/red old English game bantam. A better view of its comb could help.

Next, the white and red one. I think it is a white laced red Cornish, although it is off in coloring. I think it is probably a female.

Next is the bearded chick. It has a pea comb, so has to be an Easter egger bantam. It is female.

Next is a silver duckwing old English game bantam pullet. It should have white legs, not yellow, but I can't think what else it would be.

Agreed, Jasmine and Midnight are your males, the rest look like pullets.

I think this is entirely correct but I’m suspicious the Cornish may be a cockerel and won’t side either way. I’ve been brainstorming on the last one too and I think off-leg color is the only logical explanation

1. Cockerel
2. Possible pullet
3. Cockerel
4. Pullet
5. Easter Egger most likely, since it has a pea comb it is harder to sex so I would give it a little longer to be sure.
6. Silver Ducking OEGB pullet

Thank you for commenting. Excited to see how the Cornish turns out. That’s one we are 50/50 on for gender.
