So I went into TSC a few days ago, and I came home with four ducklings. They are so sweet and i love them so much, but i’m not so sure about what duck breed they are. TSC didn’t have their bins labeled, and there were some chicks mixed in with the ducklings. After some research I know i have 2 pekins, but the other two may be mallard, rouen, or muscovy. I got them with the belief that they are mallard, but since i have learned about other breeds i have since been unsure. Any opinions welcome and appreciated. thanks!

Muscovies would already have a tiny bit of caruncle around their beaks. Rouens would (usually) have a defined second eyestripe. Those little guys look like mallards to me.
But doesn't the caruncle not form until a few months old? Confused?

Even in very young muscovy ducklings, there is a tiny bit of interruption between the bill and the feathers. It's the start of the caruncle. This duckling does not seem to have that.
