What breed are these?

Anyone tell what kind of breed of chickens I have?

Are they from a feed store or hatchery, or from a backyard flock? To me they look like Rhode Island red or New Hampshire mixes, with a couple looking like maybe Easter egger mixes. But if they came from a hatchery, they could be some kind of layer strain such as Dixie rainbows.

I think they are dixie rainbows, or something similar. Dixie rainbows are a mixed breed layer strain created by the hatchery for excellent egg production.

You have one cockerel in there for sure, and a couple that look like they could be cockerels, in case you didn't know.

Yea they were unsexxed and i took a gamble. I know the one is a cockerel, he has started crowing recently, im hoping the rest are hens lol

Hard to tell without seeing the combs, but you do have several females.

The one in the back, close to the bowl looking thing is an Easter Egger pullet. The rest, are either Dixie Rainbows, or Hatchery Quality Rhode Island reds, or NHRs.

Dixie Rainbows are actually a meat bird cross. They are supposed to be better at foraging than conventional Cornish crosses.

My reasoning for thinking they are a layer strain is because the birds are different colors, and some of the red hens have a little barring in their plumage. There seems to be a lot different hybrids with the word 'rainbow' in it, and these seem to be a little different for each hatchery. There are Dixie rainbows and rainbow rangers and probably more.
