Thanks for the all the input.... when we got them the people who gave them to us thought that one was a hen and one was a roo, however I am now thinking otherwise. Unfortunately no eggs from the one that was thought the be a hen so we can tell with the eggs.
When I first started research I thought that perhaps the roo was a RIR cockeral or as someone pointed out perhaps a Partidge Rock. We have a partridge hen and she looks nothing like the supposed hen in question.
Here is another picture of them, if needed I can crop the photo a bit so that you might better see these two.
