I had a bantam Leghorn and a bantam Rhode Island Red hatch chicks. I don't know for sure who the mother is for 2 chicks but 1 of the chicks is the leghorns chick. The other 2 babies could either be from the Red hen that hatched them or they could be eggs layed by my Partridge Wyandotte hens and just hatched by the Red. The dad could be either a Rhode Island Red rooster that I sold or it could be my Partridge Wyandotte rooster that is still in the coop with them.

The chicks are probably about 2 weeks old. There are 3 chicks. Here are some pics of the chicks

Those are some really nice bantams!

The reason I could tell that the Wyandotte was the white chick's father is because he was the only potential parent with a rose comb. Rose combs are genetically dominant over single combs most of the time.

But with the brown chicks, it is not clear because you have both genders of Wyandottes, either of which could have given the chicks rose combs even if they were mixed with Rhode Island red.

That is why I think color pattern is going to be how you tell with the brown chicks, and it will take a while until they are feathered out all the way. I cannot tell by the color of the down feathers.
