What breed are you most excited to add this year?

I have always wanted more colored eggs so I got an Easter egger and a splash maran plus our extra chick might be a cream Legbar

I’m excited to add six more Opal legbars and a Cream crested roo. I was supposed to have them this week but now looking like mid May.

I’m most excited about my 2 Russian Orloffs that I am getting! I’m picking up my 8 new chicks tomorrow!

I already have a Serama flock, but I’m really excited that my Wheaton Serama hen, Seasons, has gone broody again. She’s a terrific mother, so I’ll be seeing some teeny chicks soon!

I started my dual purpose flock of barred rocks and so far I am loving them!!! They are 5.5 weeks and loving life!!

Barred Rocks are ym favorite. They are the sweetest I have had so far. I plan to add more later.

I'm excited to finally add Mottled Java and Partridge Chantecler, both breeds that I have been wanting for years. The Mottled Java chicks arrived in March and the Chanteclers are scheduled to arrive in May.

We are going into our 2nd year with chickens. Last year we started with 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Turkens, and 8 Easter Eggers. This year we added 2 broilers for processing and 4 Red Sexlinks. I would like a couple more Barred Rocks since they are my sweetest.

I know so many of us are buying and hatching (or have already bought & hatched) new chicks. This question is a bit different…what breed are you most excited to add to your flock? It can be one you already have, one you ordered and are waiting on, one you are hatching, or one you are hoping to get lucky & grab at the store/hatchery as a walk-in!

I am most excited about adding a Bielefelder! My son is super stoked about his Blue Cochin. Both will be arriving in June!

(Who am I kidding, I’m excited for all of them, but especially the Bielefelder!)
