So... I've been wanting turkeys for quite some time, and bought some today!!! I'm curious about the age/sex and breed... Any advice for me from Turkey pros would be awesome!!! Also, how do I feed them separate from my chickens? Or are they able to eat what the chickens eat? Any advice would be AWESOME!!!

at what age an I expect them to start filling out and looking really cool?

Well... I'm excited to see how they blossom! Theyre very funny together, and totally inseparable!

I thought that you had some how gotten a pictures of my Red Bourbon Turkeys LOL.
My are 12 weeks old now yours look a little bigger than mien.
I started mixing Chicken laying pellets with the Game Bird Starter at 8 weeks till they were 10 weeks and went straight Laying Pellets.

Here is a picture of my Red Bourbons there is a couple of Chickens in there also.
At this age its pretty easy for me to tell the sex the brighter red and blue heads and longer snoods and the Displays combined tell me its a TOM.

Its hard to tell by the pictures that you have they both might be toms.
See the bottom picture I have in my last post the two main Turkeys in the picture I am fairly certain that the right one is a Tom and the one the left most likely is a Hen.

Between the two you can see the one on the right is bigger and has much brighter colors.
I have 17 Bourbon Reds and what I can tell I almost certainly have 4 Toms and 13 Hens I would say I got a good mix when I mail ordered them as Chics I was lucky.
That's little more than 3 Hens per Tom so far I have had very little fighting going on of any kind I don't know if that's because of the ratio of Hens and Toms or that they have a 25 X 25 foot run or that that I allow them to free range from time to time or a combination of all of the above or it may be that its to happen as they get older.
I hope you don't have 2 Toms and no Hens I see you have them with your Chickens as they get to breading age there is a possibility that they may try to breed with a Hen and could kill one that's just a possibility.

This is my first year that I have raised Turkeys we had a few on the farm when I was a kid.
There are others here that know much much more than I.
