I was curious if anyone knows what breed of chickens I have and do you think they are ready to be put outside with the other chickens I have? I believe they are all pullets. Thanks. I know for sure one of the four is a rooster in the group picture.

I’m guessing these are less than 8 weeks old and to me, they all four look like cockerels. Only the reddish-gold one might be a pullet, but my gut is telling me it’s not likely. The one with the heavy feathered legs is probably a Cochin or a mix of one. The others are too hard to tell at this point for breed.

Looking like eas

I am thinking you might have a few Easter Egger Chickens. Mine have the feathered feet.

Looks like the two feather footed chicks are cochins. Are they regular sized or bantams?
Banty Cochins tend to get their combs fast(both sexes) but red early would be a sign of a cockerel.

What is the age of the birds in group photo? They are showing red in their combs.

This is a better picture of the second picture chick. I have no clue how old they are. I heard that if the tail feather was round at the ends of them they was hens. Is that true? I have no clue what size they will be. It seems like the brown looking one is going to be small since she is getting all of her feathers faster.

You have at least two cockerels there. As for breed, could you take individual pics like you did, but in natural daylight without the flash? That would make it easier to tell the gender on the others too. Thanks!
How dan you tell the other cockerel? The other three have the same type of feathers with are round at the ends. That’s what I have read about being a hen because the males won’t be like that. I will take better pictures tomorrow for you. Thanks

Pic 1- cochin
Pic 2- brahma
Pic 3- silkie mix cockerel?
Pic 4- can't tell on the breeds yet, but I see at least two cockerels

Roosters will get pointy saddle and hackle feathers, but that usually happens later. Tail feathers can only be used to accurately sex chickens when the chickens are adults.

You can only tell with feathers when they are around ten weeks old or older. At that age the roosters will tart getting pointy hackle, (neck) saddle, (base of tail going down on either side) and longer sickle (tail) feathers. Before that age, around six weeks, and cockerels will have large red combs and sometimes waddles. I think your chicks are younger than ten weeks, and a lot of me have those bright red combs. Hens only get those around eighteen or older weeks, when their combs get bigger and redden when they are close to laying.
