First off, I'm sorry but that bird is never going to lay eggs. That's a cockerel. He'll crow eventually.

The red color on the shoulders isn't from Yokohama blood, it's simply a characteristic of Easter egger males. It's commonly referred to as red leakage.

The white-ish earlobes may mean the hatchery brought in some Leghorn blood to boost egg production recently in this bird's ancestry.

Yeah.he just started crowing.but at five months old he still hadn't crowd so we went quite sure about him.his face turned red at the same time as the hens too. he's gorgeous though. Beautiful Crower. Gentle with the hens. Not even top of the flock. It's to bad we can't keep him.he spends the nights in the garage so he didn't annoy the neighbours.we're not allowed roosters. we'll have to give him away. Another question.does anyone have a SS that was late laying? Or other hens have started laying already and her face isn't even red yet.she's at least a pound less than all the others.
