What breed is known for going broody?

All breeds are possible..here's my best broody..she had 12 eggs all made it to hatch but 2 died during hatch. She's 4 pounds pre-broody and can stick 10 chicks under those wings and when she's not broody gives me a jumbo egg every day..she's a work-a-holic

From what I've read, Silkies are the best mommas, and Buff Orps and Cochins are nearly as good, but can hatch more eggs at a time. So far my favorite broodies are: My Buff Orps from McMurray (I also have a few from Cackle, but most of those haven't gone broody yet). Also the GLWs from Cackle. All five of them went broody this year, and one hatched chicks, and was the motheriest broody I've ever seen...

silkies and cochins... (best broodies are the bantam cochins with silkies as a close second)

In addition to the breeds listed above, Javas, Jersey Giants and salmon Faverolles are broody around here! At least for my flock and DHs best friend, who has the same breeds. Of the birds between the two houses, 6 of 7 JGs go broody, 3 of 5 Javas, and all 3 SF hens.

My silkie hen hatched out her first brood on April 9, 8 bantam chicks out of 12 eggs, 9 days after she officially became a hen. She hatched out her second brood on June 25, 9 bantam chicks out of 12 eggs. I put her back out with the flock when this batch was a week old. I bet she'll lay less than a month before she's broody again. She is the most VIOLENT hen when she's broody. She draws blood when she pecks to protect her eggs or chicks, and will fly at you trying to spur you if you get too close. She'd give her life for those chicks, I'm sure.

My bantam cochin hens are broody queens too. They'll hatch out 3 or 4 clutches per year each. They lay about a month, then go broody again. They've each hatched out several clutches and been wonderful mamas.

I've got a 2yo barred rock who is on her second clutch of eggs. The first time she hatched 8 out of 12 shipped silkie eggs (she's the one who hatched my mama silkie).

I've got a 1yo welsummer who hatched out her first clutch. Her percentage wasn't so great as the others. I wonder if it's because her spurs broke some of the eggs?

I've also had a buff minorca who went broody on me. She killed each chick as it hatched. If she threatens to go broody again, I will pay someone to take her off my hands.
