For reference, my mom is a first grade teacher. As part of their curriculum, they hatch chicks every spring. (I know some people are against it, but all the chicks are treated wonderfully and they go to a local Chicken Lady when they’ve all hatched.) I found this picture of one from last year at about two days old and was wondering if anyone could tell what kind they are, since I never got to see them when they’re grown. I doubt they’re anything but a basic breed. They came out of white eggs.

This one was very snuggly and wanted to hang out in my sweatshirt pocket. I can’t have chickens of my own, otherwise I’d take them all 😂

could be a white leghorn or maybe a buff orpington but could be any white or buff breed really

well buff orpingtons are really friendly naturally and it sounded nice so probably one of those

well I missed the part about eggs and it looks like my leghorn rooster used to look like but it could technically be part BO

Where did the eggs come from? Specific breeds from a hatchery or from a mixed flock?

I honestly have no idea. The school orders them from somewhere online, lol. My mom is kind of clueless
