Hello, this chick just hatched today and I’m not sure what breed it is or if it’s a mixed breed. The mom is for sure a RIR but I’m not sure about the dad.. I have two different roosters. One is a all white silkie rooster and the other is a all white Japanese bantam.

Looks like its got feathered feet. So which roo has feathered feet. I know Silkies do but do Japenese Bantams?

@NatJ any insight here, genetically based on parentage?
I agree with the previous posters:

Chick is a mixed breed because mother is one breed (Rhode Island Red) and father is a different breed (Japanese Bantam or Silkie).

Since the chick has feathered feet and extra toes, at least one parent must have feathered feet and at least one parent must have extra toes. The RIR mother does not have those traits, and the Japanese Bantam maybe-father does not have those traits, so the actual father must be the Silkie.

So Silkie father, RIR mother makes that cute little chick.
