What breed is my frizzle roo?

I can't enlarge the picture for better observation; but his legs look like he has scaley leg mites. Left untreated he could lose his toes.....

I wondered that yesterday and tried to zoom in to see as well. Decided I was wrong but now if there are two if us thinking that maybe my first impression was right afterall.

Chicken's legs do not get all scruffy looking because they are getting old. When the scales on their legs start raising up and getting ugly that is your first clue......

Thanks for the help guys. When I realised he wasn't a pure bred I stopped breeding with him and got a silkie roo to breed with my sizzles.

Actually mine is fair bit chunkier by comparrison when I look at them side by side now.

Would scaley leg mites destroy the leg feathers? It does almost look like it had them or there is something there.

He may have pulled the feathers out trying to deal with the horrible itching caused by the mites.

He does not have scaly legs. If you zoom in you can see that.

I've dealt with it, and it is very easy to see when you've had it before. His legs look perfectly healthy.

His feet and legs look gross coz he is in a cage opposite my hens and he jumps and paces up against the wire. I did put Vaseline on his feet after that photo a few weeks ago and it didn't help him.
