What breed is my neighbor's rooster?

I'll look through my phone to see if i took a picture, otherwise, next time I'm down at her house I'll get a picture.

These are the faces of "free chickens"

Ha ha! I can't wait to meet the hen!! I am a little soft on some mixes, but what happened to that Rooster's head?

I have no idea what happened to him, I think he was just hatched that way. But, when you have a soft heart and a willingness to take animals that others do not want, this is the kind of chickens that will reside in your barnyard. They have a nice coop and gigantic run....and as the saying goes "if you build it, they will come"

I was down at her house yesterday and asked her if I could see the hen that was half EE/SLW. We walked down to her chickens and could not find her. She kept pointing to various hens and asking "that one"? and I kept saying no. I know I was not hallucinating, but I did not see her. Maybe she was hiding, the area is big with lots of brush and trees. I didn't want to push the issue either because her beloved cat just had a stroke and her husband had to dispatch her. We were crying over her kitty together. A coyote got mine a few weeks ago so I really understand how awful she is feeling. It's not a good time to poke fun at her chickens. Instead we will go to the animal shelters together and find new cats to love. I lost my gray Persian, not the Tuxedo cat in my Avatar. I could not bear to lose that kitty, so he has been forced to stay inside currently until the coyotes have enough fat to get them through winter and ease off on our livestock and pets. The predators are super aggressive right now.

If I ever catch a glimpse of that chicken, I will snap a quick picture and post it.

Ohhhhh, now I understand what people mean when they say not to mix certain breeds because the result would be "a nightmare".

That roo looks kinda like Mr. Ed (the horse). It kinda looks like his earlobes are pointing out behind his head a bit.

Sorry to hear of the loss of the cats, lost my old girl recently.

I'm sure nobody is holding their breath waiting to see the chook, no pressure, would be nice but certainly not important.

Best wishes.

When I first looked it reminded me of a black copper marans. Although I am going to go with a mix breed rooster after a closer look

My neighbor was able to ask the lady she got him from exactly what he was. She learned that he is indeed a mixed breed. He is a mix of French Copper Marans and an Easter Egger.

She still has not dispatched him.....she is fattening him up first.

I'm still trying to get a glimpse again at that crazy looking hen as well.
