Thank you, that's what I was thinking from looking at pics. This is my first batch of chicks and so I am new at this. Now, I just hope she is a she and not a he-Lol

The beauty of sex links is that they are able to be sexed by sight - since Lucy is brown(red)/white she is a pullet (female) - if she were a cockerel (male) she'd be all white. Sex links are cross/mixed breed birds who's parents are specifically chosen so that they hatch with appearances that differ based on gender - so their appearance is "sex linked" . If you google "red sex link" you'll see some great pictures that show why you can be sure your Lucy is a pullet.

X2 on Lucy being a female. As Ol Grey Mare says, if it were a male Red Sex Link (it might have a few reddish feathers in the saddle but otherwise) it would be all white.

Cute red sex link pullet. She won't be a fluffy or broody as an Orpington, but she'll outlay one hands down!

Yahoo!!! Thank you for your knowledge. I will definitely look at the pics. I can't have roosters in town. I was really hoping she was a she.:)
