What breed is she?

This is her now

Definitely a Cochin pullet. She looks whiter now than she did when she was younger. I'm thinking she's a hatchery grade White Cochin with traces of porcelain or blue leaking though.

A hatchery grade chicken is a bird that conforms to the characteristics of a particular breed (for example a White Plymouth Rock has white barred feathers, yellow legs, single comb, etc.) and whose offspring will carry those same characteristics, but the bird has some flaws that do not measure up to APA standards, and which would result in a disqualification in a show (example: a few feathers that are not pure white).

Oh I see. I don't think I will ever be able to tell the difference. So what are the flaws of Hazel-Nugget, that you can see that would disqualify her? I don't intend to show her off. I am just curious now

I'm no expert of shows although I've entered a few birds in county fairs in the past (had a few of them disqualified as well because they didn't meet APA standards. I had a couple of Light Brahmas disqualified because they had a few off-colored feathers (yellowish) in their case among their white feathers. I think the same thing would likely happen with Hazel-Nugget despite the fact that she's a gorgeous bird. My Light Brahmas were as well, but APA standards are very strict.

I see. Well Hazel-Nugget is perfect in my eyes I have noticed that recently near her chest area, there is a bit of white feathers sticking out. It wasn't there before. At first I thought she probably ruffled her feathers because she is outside all the time and her favourite place is the pumpkin patch. But even if I smooth it down, it still sticks out. Is this just her growing?
