What breed is this and can they survive in the wild?

I am amateur bird photographer and I spotted these two in a park a while back living with a bunch of geese, ducks and herons. Anyone know the breed? There is a nesting pair of eagles that occasionally hunt in this park so I was wondering if I should be worried for these two.

cheers,
Terry

Probably be able to survive in wild, if we would know location. Hawaii is over-run with wild chickens. There are many chickens running feral in LA California area, also.
Florida is also another area known to have feral chickens.
I don't recognize these as any particular breed that I am familiar with. :idunno .. They do appear to be Bantam.
Post some of the Eagle pictures if you get a chance.:thumbsup

Thanks,

These are near the San Francisco Bay in a park. There are 200-300 birds in this park, so the eagles have a lot to choose from in addition to fish in the nearby waters, so I figure they may have more to worry about with raccoons or coyotes. I've attached photos of the birds I've shot at that park so far.

Those are excellent! Good job.

I would assume those chickens are crosses. They're very young-looking though. Probably only a few months old.
One's a pullet, and the other a cockerel. Actually very sweet to see them together.

Great photo’s 💕

I suppose the 2 are chickens from hobbyists who escaped / set ‘free’ and don’t have the capacity to survive in the wild for a very long time. But it depends on the build/breed or crossbreed. The flighty types that search safe places to sleep - invisible, up in a tree - have better chances.

I don’t know what (cross)breed these young chickens are. But its obvious they have special characteristics like boots/ colour /ornamentals.

How long do they take to mature on average?

I bout they will survive very long with eagles, coyotes, and raccoons. Chickens are species created by man who are fit for survival within caged areas, not wild parks.:p Hawaii can home wild chickens, but the predators are not as abundant as here. They would have a much safer life with a good chicken owner, I ADORE you picutres though! I am young and want be a vet and a photographer in the mean time! I am always taking pictures with an iPhone pretending that I have a professional camera LOL! It is very cute that you are looking out for those cuties though!
