What breed is this chicken? Green feet, black and yellow feathers...

@JedJackson thanks for the lesson this morning. I totally see the difference and obviously the combs. It’s so hard to find good quality photos of really nice Campines.

The campine pullet I have has me so intrigued with the breed I’m thinking of getting a few next year to see how I like them since I have super limited experience with just the one. I’m thinking of super hobby-level breeding in a couple years and have been thinking of this breed since they’re so endangered, and the one I got just makes me more interested. Wondering if I could focus on improving the egg production over the years.

Sounds like a great project. Campines are indeed endangered, but they are really beautiful and pretty good layers. With selective breeding I have no doubt you could improve productivity, as they were bred originally as layers. They have two strikes against their popularity- they lay white eggs, and they are flighty. On the other hand, they are better than most at escaping predators, and they are thrifty, so you won't spend as much on feed as you would for dual purpose birds.

Wow! I had no idea about either of those breeds. Thank you guys for all of your expertise, I never would have guessed that she was one of those breeds. I guess I'll just have to wait until her comb comes in to see if she's a campine or a buttercup.

This is a closeup picture of her “comb” (still growing in I assume). Does this help to identify her any better?
