What Breed is This Duckling? *more pics*

I happened to have been off work due to surgery when he was a baby. So he spent a lot of time in my apron pocket

But if I had to go and put him in his playpen, his mirror was his best friend. He would sit there and talk to his reflection for hours.

He even went to Chicken Stock with me and drank my water!

He very well could be a runner. I got some ducklings at Orscheln (sp?) and NONE of them looked like runners. Now that they are older, one is definately a runner! It is HILARIOUS to watch. It will just spazz and then run like the dickens around and around. The other poor waddlers try to follow, but they just can't keep up.

Grace, that was honestly my first guess. I'm kind of glad, I think a runner is more than I could handle. He is so squatty, doesn't look at all like the other Runner ducklings. Hope you're right, that's kind of a relief. *haha*

Terrie, thank you for the pictures, he is adorable! I'm glad to see you took him places, because I would like mine to do some minor traveling with me.

I took him with me to meet my dad today, he thought it was pretty funny.

He's doing great today, and new chicks will be in the box with him soon. I would like to keep him in the back yard (penned) when we move to town, but don't want him to be alone. (Clark will probably veto that idea. *ha*) If I get two ducklings will they both still be 'pets'?

I honestly am set at thinking it's a runner.... the length or its' neck and how it looks a little more upright than other ducks. I raised 2 runners from ducklings and when they have just hatched they have the appearance of a pekin... but just in weeks their neck gets a little more lengthy and they get a little more upright.
