Wow. I guess I always have thought Brown leghorn to be the normal all Brown hen. I love the coloring on them!

The names of chicken color patterns can be confusing at times. There are several breeds where the hens have that color pattern and, as far as I know, Leghorn is the only breed where it's called "brown". lol

Not sure why in leghorns its only called brown, it is Black Breasted Red. I really confuse people with mine because I have Black and BLUE Breasted Red Leghorns, I don't think the blues can go under the "Brown" label so that label has been tossed on our ranch, they are the proper BBR's now when people come to buy
