What breed is this new doe? I'm confused...

When I saw the word doe i thought you meant a goat! Oops!

I went to a rabbit show one time and they had a rabbit like this and said it was an English Spot and down another row they had another rabbit marked a little different and called it a Hotot. I asked them the difference and they said the black around the eye. To me they looked the same. That's why I liked New Zealand and Dutch rabbits. They are easy to tell.

I believe the Hotots are smaller and that's the difference. I could be wrong though...I tend to be sometimes..lol!

I like the Dutch. We have a Dutch buck and he is a lap rabbit...SOOOO mild mannered. We bred him to our Chinchilla's and they made some CUTE babies! We just had a litter born a couple days ago. One is solid black though

No clue where that popped up!

Its easier to tell "Live and in person" than from pics, I think:

New Zealand
American
Florida White

We have auctions near us where everything is a "Flemish Giant" or "New Zealand" or "Pick any breed" I always say maybe once upon a time it used to be a Flemish Giant, but it isn't anymore!

I couldn't agree more! Physical size makes such a huge difference in identifying breeds! Definately hard to tell from pics.

From top to bottom they are a Florida White, New Zealand, and Satin.

My point being there is more to a rabbit breed than color. I see so many people looking at any spotted rabbit and deciding it's an English Spot or Checkered Giant or Rhinelander simply because it has spots. You have to consider the size, body type, rarity, sometimes even temperament of the rabbit when trying to determine its breed.

The rabbit in the OP looks nothing like an English Spot OR a Checkered Giant aside from the fact it has spots, and spots alone do not a breed make.
