What breed is this roo?

Thank you for all te information!

I actually emailed the woman I got him from originally to see if I can go out and catch a brother of his. She is over run with boys so I'm sure she will say yes :)

Let's just hope my catching skills are accurate and swift! :)

That sex link stuff is so confusing. Too bad I most likely won't find another like him. I adored his coloring.

I am crossing my fingers that this woman has one like him.

I'll over simplify, which may or may not make it easier to understand.

Let's say I had a purple rooster and I put it over a green hen. The chicks that hatch, feather (fuzz) two ways. Let's say the females color out purple (sort of) like their father and the males color out green (sort of) like their mother. Ta Da. Sex linked. You can tell the sex immediately at hatch by their color.

But those chicks won't be able to carry on this feat, because they are no longer pure purple like their dad nor pure green like their mom. They are now mixes/mutts. Their offspring can produce black, white, purple, green and a mix of all kinds of things.

Finding a Black Sex Link rooster is very, very very easy to find. It won't be precisely, a twin to the one you have, but these black sex link roosters are common and normally, aren't all that desired or coveted, so many times, folks will give them away for free or for very little. Hope all that helps.
