What breed is this rooster

A neighbor of mine actually asked me if it was possible to just give the hens hormones to make them be broody. The answer as far as my research goes is no.
They are either broody or they are not.

What breeds do you have in your entire flock?
Most that are bred for mass egg production have a very very small chance of being effective broody hens. The hormones are just not there in them.

This is my first time with chickens. I got 4 chickens in April that were a day old. (Hens 1 Isa brown,1 welsummer,1 black austrolurp, 1 rooster ameranca I thought) then Later picked up a Amber link that is 8 weeks older and she started laying this week. Then loving my chickens so much we got a bigger coop and 5 more chickens (1 amber,3 Isa browns,1 barredrock) that are about the same age as my first 4 (April 21st they were born)

I think your best chances for a broody hen in the mix would be the Welsummer or the Australorp. Now they are not THE broodiest out there by a long shot. I have one Australorp out of the 30 or so I have had over the years that went broody. Only one ever.
I have never owned a Welsummer so I can only go by what I have read about them. That is the obscure and unclear "occasionally broody".

Yours being so young are unlikely to be broody until next spring.

I feel so over the top with my chickens. I just love having them..... Wish I had did this to years ago

I agree. As I stated in my third post, Isa Browns and Amber Links are unlikely to go broody. I've only rarely had a Red Sex Link (which is what Isa Browns are) bought under any label go broody over the years. Occasionally my Australorps and Welsummers have gone broody.
