What breed is this rooster?

He doesn't have the right coloring for golden cuckoo or legbar, so I'm thinking he's just a really attractive mixed breed.

A project bird is something that was bred intentionally-- it could still mean a mixed breed, or it could mean trying for a new color in an established breed. Most mixed breeds are random results of random crosses, and aren't bred with any particular intention in mind.

I finally got a better picture of him - with my work schedule I kept getting home after dark!

I think he must be a mixed breed. I haven’t found anything quite like him online, but you are all more expert at this than me!
