what breed is this rooster?

From what i can asume. I trimmed up a big tree in my backyard so my yard gets more sun. The very next day he showed up. I can only asume my tree was blocking the noise from my chickens and after i trimmed it up the rooster then heard my hens and came looking to reproduce.

I don't think the rooster is a phoenix because phoenix's are usually lightly colored. It is either a Jungle Fowl or a Game Rooster I am leaning to Game rooster because Jungle Fowl's come in different shapes sizes and colors, the Jungle Fowl's Comb and waddle is usually brightly colored. So I think it is a Game Rooster. I am not 100% sure that it is a Game rooster but that is most likely to be one, from my knowledge and I have 18 Chickens in my back yard in the middle of the city.

Thank You

Well to update everyone on the subject. He has simce gotten pretty:)friendlyand now comes inside my hens pin when left open and lays on the eggs, which i find extremely weird. Yesterday oneastermy daughter went out to see if our barred rock hen had laid any eggs yet because she has been letting the rooster breed with her rather often so weve been collecting her eggs cause she doesnt layonthem for much longer than to lay the egg and be done with it. The rooster then lays on the eggs for a short while. I had pulled all the hens out of the pinand left only my barred rock hen inside withthe rooster to breed and i came out to check on them and there was another egg! This egg is much larger than any egg ive ever seen in my hen house. Its a little darker brown than a normal barred rock egg and it has dark spots or mottle on it. Im not too sure what happened here but fromwhat i know rooster Dont lay eggs so what happened? Maybe the egg was in the nestand i didnt see it from outside so i didnt retreive it u tilll i saw the new barred rock egg so maybe my dark star hen laid that egg possibly. Could it be that its different looking due to itbeing ferti.ized? that shouldnt hapen untill the chicks from the eggs im hatching lay theeir eggs right? Then they would be a cross? But not untill. Sonhow did the mottled or spotted medium darkmegg show up? so back to the rooster subject. The research ive ben doing i thought the rooster could be a dark colored leghorn rooster. He looks identical to the pictures ive seen online of brown leghorns. So is there any way to find out exactly whzt type of rooster he is? i am building a new bigger pen for my hens with a nice hen house for them and im going to give the rooster the old hen pen and hen house to call his own after i get the new one built. I would like to keep this roosters with his own breed if possible. From what ive researched your supposed to keep one breed in one pin and another breed in the next pen.in order to keep the breed line pure and unmixed?. This is why is important to me to find out what breed he is. He seems to breed with my hens just fine. with the exception of my one leghorn hen. She absolutly hates him and tries to fight him any time he is in her way or if he gets too close to her and my dominant hen which i suspect is that way because she is at the very front of the peking order so her dominance reigns through the group. any ways so there is a little update on my topic and how i am handling it. I also foundmout the owner of the rooster is a mexican fella that lives in the neighborhood somewhere close. I wemt to the guys house who i thougt owned it and this is whzt he told me. Theres a mexican fella who says the rooster got away from his yard or cage and has been roaming the field behind my house. He heard my hens and decided to move in. So im unsure wheather i should attempt to return him to his owner. The guy hd come to try to catch the rooster several times with no luck so i think he gave up. My thought is i here another rooster close by and i think this guy might be using this rooster to breed for fighting or maybe he was raising him to fight him. Im not sure never the less so im justgoing to keep things the way they are untill i hear otherwise. I surely wouldnt wznt him getting the rooster back of he intends on fighting him. He has settled down around my hens and is getting along with them pretty well now except leghorn. Sha hates him. Lol. ive even cought him in the hen pen and held him a few times. He is even lgettinga lot closer to me now and alnost letting me pick him up. He has never tried to attack me or anything. So theres the update. Anyone who could let me know the anseres to my questions would be much appreciated.

Any chance your Barred Rock is a Cuckoo Marans? That may explain the dark, mottled egg. Fertilization will not affect the shell color.

If the rooster is friendlier now, try to get some more good photos showing his comb, legs, natural carriage, etc.

There are rosecomb leghorns, but I believe the brown leghorns should be black breasted--yours looks laced. Leghorns should also have white ears. Your bird looks to be at least part longtail, though certainly could be mixed with leghorn.

I know next to nothing about fighting chickens--the bird sure looks like he could be part game--but that doesn't mean he was intended to fight or breed fighters. I've found that most people looking for roosters are looking for cheap food. Cheap food means not spending too much time trying to catch it. If the bird was intended for fighting, I'd suspect the owner (or potential owner) would put more effort into catching the rooster. Just my thought on the issue.

My guess is going to be an american game/ pheonix cross. or something close to that. Anyone interested in him. Id sell him for 200.00 cash. He used to crow really laud at three am every morning but i got a no crow collar for him and when they are fitted perfectly theres no more crowing. When it turns down the crowing noise or makes the rooster sound like hes going through pubery its cause the collar is too low and neds repositioned higher on the roosters neck. Be sure to watch the rooster for a good half an hour after putting it on to make sure he can still breath, eat, and drink without problems.
