She can still be an EE and lay brown eggs, as the EE is a cross breed and not all that are bred will lay the green or blue eggs. Some may lay a tinted pink, or light brown, brown, dark brown, dark green like olive egger! So the pea comb and dark legs could still be indicators of EE and just not the Shell Gene for the green or blue eggs like how it doesn't have the Muffs and Beard either, but still be an EE. There are EE that do not have the muffs or beard, yellow legs and lay the green or blue eggs, and all sorts of variations. That is how you know it just came from poor breeding, and that perhaps a first generation project of some sort perhaps!
