What breed is this

This is what they looked like when I got them
We posted at the same time.

She looks to be 6 weeks here. + 8 weeks that you've had her = 14 weeks. Right on the money!

The carrier they were in had no food or water and filled with urine and feces. It was terrible. He's kinda a protective grumpy roo and she is skidish

Okay lol!! Good guess!!! So a month or two and she should start laying? 20wks right. And any thoughts how to get them more trusting and calm the roo down?

And what are your thoughts on wing clipping? Says that buttercups are intolerant to confinement and want to roam. I'm in the city and he flies lol. And she does. They get on top of my fence when I let them out to roam.

When I'm out with them. He just circles her and protects her. He has let me pick them up and stuff but doesn't prefer it lol

Sry for so many questions. These are my first and wasn't prepared to have em. So learning as I go. Really appreciate all help I have gotten from all of you!!

Okay great! Thank you! I wasn't sure if it was a good thing to do or not. But I don't want him confined and I don't want him to disappear.

Does he attack you?

Roosters shouldn't want to be picked up, it's not in their nature.

If I were you, I'd get a few more hens for him. He will wear her out with mating. You can clip wings to contain them, but if you don't have a covered run it won't stop predators from getting at them. However, I free range and have some flighty breeds. They won't wander too far from home no matter what.
