what breed is this?

he is about 4 months old and I believe is a roo he hatched from a white egg.

I am going to go with a mixed breed.
Because:
Barred rock have yellow legs and lay brown eggs
cuckoo marans have white legs, but lay extremely dark brown eggs
I guess it could be a barred leghorn, they lay white eggs, but are suppose to have yellow legs. Since it is a color project you ocassionally get wrong color legs and other things

Knowing where the eggs came from would help a lot.

My first guess is a mixed breed of a barred roo over a leghorn hen. That would explain the white egg and huge comb.

The other thing I'll throw out there is a barred Holland. They're white egg laying, supposed to have yellow legs but often have dark, and not supposed to have white earlobes.
the Hollands are still pretty rare, though, so unless the person the egg came from has them, I'm thinking mixed breed. Much more likely.

Look up Barred Hollands. They lay a white egg. I'm not sure on the leg or earlobe color for them.

I'm pretty sure barred hollands are suppose to have yellow legs.

They are supposed to, but according to the folks on the dedicated thread, dark legs are a common fault they're trying to breed out.
