Cornish Cross are meat birds. IF managed very carefully it is possible to raise them beyond the typical age of butchery ( matter of weeks) and maintain them into an adulthood. Females do lay eggs, yes, but they are not a bird that is designed for egg production so the rate at which they lay is not going to be what you would be looking for out of egg production breeds. The fact of the matter is, because they are designed as meat birds that is what they are best suited for. If you are not up to the task of butchering and eating them I would sell them off to someone who wants meat birds and start over with a flock of birds that meet the purpose you want them for.
