I just googled the Barred Cochin Bantam and I think you might be right! It's so exciting to see them get bigger and show their "true" colors so to say.

I have a chick like that. As she aged, the barring became more gold. Her mother was a gold laced cochin and the father is a calico silkie, serama, and cochin cross. You might have an entirely different mix, though. Who knows. Keep us updated on its aging process, please!

I know! I have 4 bantams right now, 2 game breeds and the Splash Cochins. They are all growing into beautiful birds!

I think she’s Cochin all the way.
I have two Cochins (partridge hen & blue cockerel) and I love them! They’re the best! My grey silkie pullet is a very close second!
(I also have a Golden sebright, lavender/self blue OEG and then 7 others that are all started chicks! 3 OEG, a slate blue sort colored pullet, Brassy Back pullet and a unknown colored cockerel.

Add a wheatenish colored Serama pullet to that list
She’s so quiet I forget about her. And then there is the two uglies, Dark Cornish pullets (who are no longer ugly)
